This simple smoky tofu pasta is an easy, family-friendly weeknight meal.
Made with just a few ingredients, it’s comforting, budget-friendly, and completely plant-based.

Crispy tofu, soft pasta, and gently sautéed onions come together in a savory dish that many kids enjoy — especially when served with fresh veggies on the side.

Ingredients

1 block smoked tofu
1 small onion
250 g spiral pasta or elbow pasta
1 tablespoon oil (divided)
1½ tablespoons soy sauce
a good pinch of garlic powder

Instructions

1. Finely dice the onion.
2. Heat ½ tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the onion until soft and translucent.
3. Remove the onion from the pan and set aside.
4. Add the remaining ½ tablespoon of oil to the same pan.
5. Cut the smoked tofu into small cubes and sauté with the rest of the oil until lightly golden.
6. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain well.
7. Add the cooked pasta and sautéed onions to the pan with the tofu.
8. Stir everything together and fry for a few more minutes.
9. Add the soy sauce and garlic powder. Stir well and adjust seasoning if needed.
10. Serve warm with a fresh salad or crunchy vegetable sticks on the side.
